‘Beautiful Feet’

I just got back from an adventure up to the boundary waters of Northern MN with some guys. It was great in so many ways! And it prompted the reminder of ‘beautiful feet’.

In no way do I consider my feet ‘beautiful’, but God’s Word describes a different picture.

For those who remember the ‘Romans Road’ gospel presentation, it lands on the well known verses of Romans 10:9,13:

“If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved… For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

But if you continue in that passage, you see the ‘beautiful feet’:

“But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”
- Romans 10:14-15

I wanted to share this as a blog post update in THREE ways:

  1. For each and every one of us, wherever we are, and whatever season of life we are in, are ALL called to have ‘beautiful feet’ bringing the reality and the message of the Gospel to those around us—where we live, work, and play! Starting with our families!

  2. I also would appreciate the prayers going into this weekend as I’m speaking at Camp Shamineau for our Fall Retreat. There will be over 600 students there, including our own group from Rockpoint.

We are also excited that for the first time my whole family will be up there—Marcela as a leader, Benaiah as a student, and Maja gets to tag along with me as the speaker!

    Please pray for…

    - God’s words as we walk through the book of Philippians… how to live your best life with JOY (1:1-11), LOVE (2:1-18), HOPE (3:1-14), and PEACE (4:4-13)!

    - Specific prayer for the GOSPEL presentation Saturday night and the students to place their faith in Jesus… will be using - Philippians 3:8-9

    - For wisdom in the balance of being a dad, a speaker, and a youth pastor all at the same time throughout the weekend.

3. And lastly, I wanted to share about ‘beautiful feet’, as we continue the journey on this Panama missionary adventure! We truly feel SENT to go on this mission of bringing the Gospel to Panama so that ‘everyone can hear and call on the name of the Lord and be saved!’ We are continually overwhelmed at the many who are joining our ministry partner team to bring the Good News of the Gospel to Panama and beyond!

Thank you for joining us on the adventure!
